Introducing R-dog: The Stair-Climbing Delivery Robot with a Twist

By Editor • August 31, 2026 • 1 min read

In the realm of delivery innovations, a new contender named R-dog is making waves, tackling the age-old challenge of navigating stairs and uneven terrain. Unlike typical delivery robots that often stall at the foot of stairs, R-dog is designed specifically to conquer such obstacles, seamlessly bridging the gap from street to doorstep.

This four-legged robot, developed by Robot.com, features a unique combination of wheels and flexible legs, allowing it to climb stairs and traverse various landscapes while efficiently rolling on flat surfaces. Its approachable design, complete with a furry tail, aims to make it less intimidating and more engaging for users.

R-dog isn't just about carrying packages; it doubles as an advertising platform. Equipped with Robot.com’s R-ads, it can deliver branded content while engaging in conversations with pedestrians. This dual purpose invites speculation on whether it is primarily a delivery robot or an advertising vehicle, with opinions varying on its primary function.

Supported by advanced technology, R-dog operates on the REMI fleet management system and utilizes FieldAI’s navigation capabilities to maneuver through unpredictable environments without pre-mapped routes. This is crucial for its intended use in residential areas and urban blocks.

With over 500 robots already in operation across several regions, including the US and Dubai, Robot.com has established itself in the robotics field since its inception in 2017. R-dog is set for commercial deployment in 2027, though pricing details remain under wraps. As it stands, R-dog presents a promising solution to the persistent challenges of last-mile delivery, raising questions about the future of delivery and advertising in our neighborhoods.
