Iranian Clubs Set for Neutral Venue Matches in Asian Champions League

The draw for the group stage of the Asian Champions League Elite has placed Iranian clubs Esteghlal and Tractor in a challenging position, as they prepare to face Qatari and UAE teams at neutral venues.
Starting September 14, Esteghlal will compete against UAE's Al Ain, Al Wasl, and Shabab Al-Ahli, alongside Qatari clubs Al Gharafa, Al Sadd, and Al Shamal. This comes amid heightened tensions in the region, following recent conflicts.
Despite the geopolitical climate, both Iranian teams managed to avoid the formidable Saudi Arabian representatives, who dominate the tournament. Saudi clubs, including Al-Ahli, are vying for significant titles, with Al-Hilal aiming for its fifth championship and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr making a comeback.
As the competition unfolds, the top eight from each group will progress to the knockout stages, culminating in the final on May 1 in Saudi Arabia.
