Jacques Marie Mage Revives Iconic Sunglasses Inspired by Stanley Kubrick

By Editor • August 20, 2026 • 1 min read

Renowned for its artisanal craftsmanship, Jacques Marie Mage is set to reintroduce sunglasses inspired by the legendary director Stanley Kubrick. Known as the 'Rolls-Royce of eyewear,' this American brand produces limited editions, making them highly sought after by collectors.

Building on a successful partnership since 2022, Jacques Marie Mage previously launched styles influenced by Kubrick's iconic films, including 'The Shining' and '2001: A Space Odyssey.' This latest release, however, pays homage to Kubrick himself, reflecting his personal style from two pivotal decades in his career.

The new collection features two distinct designs: the '1948' and '1980' sunglasses. The '1948' style showcases a vintage aesthetic with thick-rimmed frames and rounded lenses, reminiscent of the eyewear Kubrick donned while capturing images of stars like Frank Sinatra during his early days as a photographer. These come in four color options including classic black and polished clear acetate.

In contrast, the '1980' sunglasses offer a sleek aviator look inspired by those worn by Kubrick while filming 'The Shining' and 'Full Metal Jacket.' These frames are crafted with titanium rims and are available in four modern color schemes. Both styles are limited-edition, with '1980' engraved on the arm of the aviators.

Jacques Marie Mage describes this collection as a tribute to Kubrick's legacy, highlighting his innovative spirit and dedication to his craft. It serves not just as eyewear but as a reflection of the artistry that defined one of cinema's greatest visionaries.
