Jaguar Unveils Striking Interior Design of Type 01 Ahead of Full Reveal

By Editor • August 13, 2026 • 2 min read

Jaguar is generating buzz as it reveals the innovative interior design of its upcoming Type 01, a four-door GT that promises to redefine luxury automotive spaces. While the exterior remains shrouded in mystery beneath camouflage, the interior showcases a bold architectural vision that echoes the Type 00 concept.

A standout feature is the full-length central spine that runs from the dashboard to the rear, effectively partitioning the cabin into four distinct zones. This design not only enhances the visual appeal but also promotes a sense of individuality among passengers. Thomas Holden, Jaguar's chief interior designer, emphasizes that this spine creates 'four individual spaces' and offers a unique orientation that diverges from the conventional horizontal dashboard layout.

The Type 01's cabin design is further enriched by a sophisticated color palette inspired by travertine stone. The central spine features a brass-like finish, while elongated brass inserts adorn the tops of the doors, integrating Jaguar’s iconic Leaper graphic. The use of textile surfaces adds warmth, contrasting the stark geometry of the interior and creating a more inviting atmosphere.

Another notable element is the streamlined integration of technology. The digital displays are subtly incorporated into the architecture, allowing for a clean look while still providing essential information to the driver. A ClearSight rear-view display and a central touch screen are positioned for easy access without dominating the space, allowing the spine to maintain its commanding presence.

Set to be the first production vehicle built on Jaguar's Electric Architecture (JEA), the Type 01 boasts an impressive tri-motor powertrain that can deliver over 1,000 PS and 1,300 Nm of torque. Jaguar will officially unveil the finished vehicle on October 6, 2026, in New York, with a prototype making an appearance at the Monterey Car Week culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours on August 16, 2026.

With its ambitious design choices and innovative features, the Type 01 interior could signal a new direction for Jaguar, showcasing their commitment to crafting unique and luxurious driving experiences.
