This week, two renters in New York City initiated a class action lawsuit against the brokerage Compass. They allege that the company has artificially inflated rental prices by boycotting listings on free platforms like Zillow.
With over 80% of Manhattan’s rental listings under its control, Compass allegedly manipulates pricing, allowing it to dictate rents across the market.
