Len Ikitau Returns as Wallabies Prepare for Argentina Challenge

By Editor • August 19, 2026 • 1 min read

Len Ikitau is making his comeback to the Wallabies squad as they gear up for a challenging two-Test series against Argentina. The player, who recently underwent minor surgery, replaces Jock Campbell after a successful recovery.

Coach Les Kiss has opted for consistency, maintaining the core of the team that achieved victories in his first two matches in charge. Ikitau's return comes at a crucial time, with the first Test scheduled for August 30 in San Salvador de Jujuy, followed by a second match in Mendoza on September 6.

Although Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii missed the recent win against Japan due to a hamstring issue, he is back in the mix, though his position remains uncertain. Meanwhile, Josh Flook has been omitted from the squad, and Campbell's previous spot has been filled by Ben Donaldson for the next three Tests.

Max Jorgensen also makes the squad despite a recent injury scare, while Zac Lomax continues to recover from injury. Notably, lock Miles Amatosero is still serving a suspension and will not participate in the first Test.

Coach Kiss emphasized the importance of building on the team's cohesion and performance as they prepare for tougher opponents. He acknowledged the need to elevate their game against the world-ranked seventh team and hinted at potential positional changes for Suaalii to maximize his impact on the field.

The squad will gather in Sydney on Saturday before heading to Buenos Aires, marking the beginning of what promises to be a significant tour for the Wallabies as they aim to refine their strategies ahead of the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
