Liverpool Eyes Ismaila Sarr After Brighton Snubs

By Editor • August 26, 2026 • 1 min read

Liverpool is setting its sights on Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr following Brighton's rejection of their bids for Yankuba Minteh. The Reds offered £50 million and later £60 million for Minteh, both turned down, prompting a shift in focus to Sarr, who netted 21 goals last season.

Although Sarr, a right-sided winger with Premier League experience, appears to be on Liverpool's radar, it is understood that Crystal Palace is not keen on parting with the Senegalese international this summer. Recently, Galatasaray also expressed interest in Sarr.

Despite reports of a bid from Liverpool, both clubs have denied any formal offer. Meanwhile, Liverpool continues discussions with Paris St-Germain regarding France winger Bradley Barcola as they aim to enhance their options in the final days before the transfer deadline.

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage remains hopeful that Sarr and teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta will stay with the club. Sage noted that Sarr, who is currently injured, is under contract for three more years, making a transfer challenging. Sage stated, "For the moment, yes… he is with us. He is under contract."
