Mathilde Favier, a cherished figure in the fashion world and Dior Couture’s director of public relations, tragically passed away at the age of 57 on August 18 in Airvault, France, alongside her husband, Nicolas Altmayer, who was 61. The couple lost their lives in a car accident, prompting a wave of grief throughout the fashion community.

The House of Dior commemorated Favier as an exceptional woman, with Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior Couture, expressing profound sorrow over the loss. In a heartfelt tribute, Bernard Arnault also acknowledged Favier's dedication to Dior, while Jonathan Anderson, the artistic director, highlighted her warmth and positivity, calling her the essence of haute couture. Favier’s passion for Paris, where she fostered a deep connection to style and living well, was encapsulated in her book, Living Beautifully in Paris, which reflected her love for the city’s culture and its people.

Favier's son, Carlo Agostinelli, poignantly shared his grief on social media, remembering her as the embodiment of joy and love, leaving her family and friends struggling to comprehend the sudden loss.
