Nashville Music Manager Dale Morris Passes Away at 89

Dale Morris, a prominent figure in Nashville's music scene, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 89. Known for his pivotal role in shaping the careers of country music legends, Morris was instrumental in elevating the group Alabama to unprecedented heights during the 1980s and '90s.

Under his management, Alabama achieved 33 No. 1 hits and won multiple Entertainer of the Year awards from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. Morris later propelled Kenny Chesney into stardom, transforming him into a top-tier performer with 32 No. 1 hits and four Entertainer of the Year accolades in the 2000s.

Clint Higham, Morris's longtime protégé, remarked on his mentor's larger-than-life presence and ability to inspire others. Morris is survived by his wife of 68 years, Earline, and a loving family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life is set to take place this fall.
