New Survey Reveals Shift in Marriage Aspirations Among Young Japanese

A recent survey from Japan's Children and Families Agency indicates a growing trend among young unmarried individuals, with 35% expressing no desire to marry.

Out of approximately 15,000 respondents, many prefer to focus on leisure activities rather than settling down. In contrast, only 9.5% are eager to marry immediately, while 10.3% hope to tie the knot within two to three years, and 7.7% within five years.

The survey, conducted online from May to August, gathered insights from about 68,000 individuals aged 15 to 39. The final results will be released next March, aiming to inform future policies for the youth.
