Peacock Unveils New Wendy Williams Documentary Series for 2027

Peacock is set to launch a three-part documentary series titled "Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show," scheduled to hit screens in 2027. While Wendy Williams herself will not be part of this project, it is being spearheaded by her long-time producer, Susanne Bass, who was pivotal during the show's 13-season run.

According to a press release from Peacock, Bass's extensive experience provides crucial insights into the show's significant role in pop culture. Alongside her, a team of executive producers, including Ian Orefice, Jon Adler, Amanda Spain, and Missy Walker from EverWonder Studio, will contribute to the series.

Wendy Williams, who transitioned from radio to television with her show in 2008, faced health challenges that led to its conclusion in June 2022. Following a leave of absence due to medical issues, she entered a court-appointed guardianship in 2022 and was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2024. Williams has expressed her desire to escape guardianship, claiming her cognitive abilities remain intact.

Unlike previous documentaries that focused on her personal struggles, "Clap If You Care" aims to celebrate her career and the cultural impact of her show. The series promises to feature over 20 former staff members sharing their perspectives on Williams’s influential legacy.
