Merck and Moderna have revealed positive findings from their joint trial for a new melanoma vaccine, potentially paving the way for its regulatory approval.
The vaccine, named intismeran autogene, demonstrated "statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements" for patients with skin cancer when combined with Merck’s Keytruda, according to a statement from the companies.
Distinct from traditional vaccines, intismeran is a therapeutic vaccine designed to treat existing conditions rather than prevent them.
