Revolutionary Dewrinkler Aims to Smooth Clothes On-The-Go

By Editor • August 25, 2026 • 1 min read

Picture this: you're rushing off a train, realizing your shirt looks like it’s been crumpled in a bag. With no iron in sight and past experiences with wrinkle sprays leaving you skeptical, what do you do? Enter the Elide Dewrinkler, a groundbreaking device designed by Safaa Fojdar, a product design graduate from De Montfort University.

This innovative, cordless gadget tackles wrinkles while you wear your clothes. Utilizing a vacuum-style nozzle, it releases warm air and gently pulls the fabric taut, smoothing out creases effortlessly. Operating at a safe 45 degrees Celsius, the Elide is intended for direct use on clothing, eliminating the risk of burns.

Fojdar’s design incorporates a refillable spray bottle that lightly mists fabric, helping to release stubborn wrinkles before the warm air sets them. For more significant creases, a modular hot plate attachment transforms the device into a compact iron, reaching 200 degrees Celsius. This thoughtful design allows the gadget to adapt to various needs.

After showcasing her 3D-printed prototype at London’s New Designers event, Fojdar hopes to fill a gap in the market for on-the-go wrinkle relief.
