Suspects in Hina Javed Murder Case Granted Extended Remand

In a gripping development, a Rawalpindi court has granted an additional three days of physical remand for the husband and domestic servant of Hina Javed, who was tragically found murdered last week. The 45-year-old digital media executive was discovered dead with her hands bound and showing signs of torture in her apartment on August 20.

The police have constituted a special investigation team, detaining the suspects while also questioning Javed's father-in-law. During the latest court session, Duty Magistrate Rana Shah Nawaz approved a three-day extension after the suspects were presented following an initial remand.

Shah Khawar, representing Javed's family, noted that the investigation is progressing well, with evidence being gathered and forensic analyses underway. A postmortem revealed severe trauma, including a broken hyoid bone, and swabs were sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for further analysis.

In a bid to unravel the circumstances surrounding her death, the suspects underwent DNA and polygraph tests in Lahore, returning to face the court amidst heightened security. Initial reports indicated that the police were misled to believe a theft occurred, only to find Javed’s body in a staged position.
