Jacques Moretti, the owner of a Swiss bar devastated by a New Year’s fire that resulted in 41 fatalities, has been placed in pre-trial detention for alleged domestic abuse against his wife, Jessica. Reports indicate that the incident occurred on August 11 at their home in Wallis canton, leading to Jessica’s hospitalization.
Both Jacques and Jessica Moretti were already under scrutiny due to their involvement in the deadly blaze at Le Constellation in Crans-Montana, which injured 115 individuals. They are among 16 people facing criminal charges, including manslaughter by negligence.
While the couple's lawyers emphasized that the domestic abuse allegations are part of a separate investigation, they acknowledged the intense strain the couple has experienced since the tragic fire. Local media, including Geneva’s Leman Bleu, reported on the developments surrounding the Morettis.
