In a startling incident on the Gold Coast, a 17-year-old driver was charged after allegedly drink driving with seven passengers in his ute. Police stopped the vehicle around 2am on Wednesday, noticing erratic lane changes.
Upon inspection, officers found three passengers unrestrained in the tray. The driver’s breath alcohol content was measured at 0.022 per cent, surpassing limits for provisional license holders. When questioned about his decision to drive with so many passengers, he remarked, "We didn't want to pay for an Uber." He faces court on September 14.
