Tom Hardy is stepping into the rap game with his new album, "Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer," a collaboration with the underground rap collective Czarface, featuring members 7L, Esoteric, and Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang Clan. Known for his intense film roles, Hardy, under the alias Frankie Pulitzer, infuses his lyrics with a wealth of references from cinema and comic books.
In tracks like "Raw Forever," the actor draws on iconic films and characters, nodding to Martin Scorsese’s "Bringing Out the Dead," Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and even Marvel’s Doctor Doom. His verses are a chaotic blend of pop culture and gritty storytelling, showcasing his unique style.
Hardy doesn’t shy away from controversy. In the track "Mad Technology," he delivers a shocking line about Kathy Bates, stating, "I’d rather masturbate to Kathy Bates than hear you flow." He also name-drops Stephen King adaptations like "Cujo" and "Misery," while referencing Marvel’s Thor and Shameik Moore.
Adding a theatrical touch, Hardy concludes "Grim-Visaged War" with a recitation of Shakespeare’s "Richard III" in a voice reminiscent of his Bane character. This album marks Hardy’s continued exploration of music, following previous collaborations and an earlier, unreleased project from 1999.
