Transform Your Bike into a Smart Trainer with Garmin's New Tacx Neo 2T

By Editor • August 19, 2026 • 1 min read

If your bike has been collecting dust in the garage, Garmin has just offered it a new lease on life. The Tacx Neo 2T, launching on August 21 for $1,099, seamlessly converts any bike with 8 to 13 gears into a smart trainer.

Unlike traditional setups that require extensive calibration, the Neo 2T simplifies the transition to a smart cycling experience. With no cassette swaps or complex installations, users can quickly attach their bike, connect the included remote for virtual shifting, and dive right into popular cycling apps like Zwift and Rouvy.

Though the exterior design is familiar, having debuted in 2019, the internal upgrades make all the difference. The innovative Zwift Cog replaces the traditional cassette, providing power and cadence accuracy to within 1 percent. Additionally, the trainer adjusts resistance based on weight, speed, and incline, ensuring a smooth and quiet workout experience. New users of Zwift will also receive a complimentary membership offer, although the duration remains unspecified.
