Ukrainian anti-corruption agencies have uncovered a money laundering operation involving a presidential staff member, reportedly linked to a scheme using 150 million hryvnias ($3.35 million) for bail in an energy corruption case.
This revelation comes just before a crucial parliamentary vote to appoint a new defense minister, Yevhenii Khmara, amid ongoing political unrest following the dismissal of former defense chief Mykhailo Fedorov.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced the investigation, which includes prominent figures like a deputy head of the presidential office and former lawmakers. The identities of those involved remain undisclosed due to legal restrictions.
