Admiral Brad Cooper recently commended the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln during his visit, despite ongoing mental health and supply issues. He labeled them as “awe-inspiring.”
The USS Lincoln, one of the US Navy's 11 active carriers, has reported the lowest mental health cases, yet Cooper acknowledged the unique challenges of extended sea service, especially after 250 days without a port call.
As lawmakers express concerns about the mental well-being of the 5,000 crew members, the USS George Washington is set to replace the Lincoln.
