Marking a significant milestone in Brazilian cinema, the feature film "Seduction" ("Sedução"), directed by Marcos Palmeira and Zelito Viana, will premiere on September 11 at the Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival in Miami. This event celebrates its 30th edition, showcasing the best of Brazilian film on an international platform.
"Seduction" represents Palmeira's directorial debut, where he also stars as Paulo, a celebrated actor forced to confront his father's death in the depths of the Amazon Rainforest. The film explores his journey to resolve his father's unfinished business amidst the challenges of the region. Jorge Peregrino of H2O Films praised the production, stating, "It is the best film of Zelito Viana, even better than 'Villa-Lobos: A Life of Passion.'" He credited the fresh perspective brought by Palmeira's direction.
Filmed in the picturesque setting of Alter do Chão along the Tapajós River, the movie tackles pressing local issues, including illegal land grabbing. The cast features notable Brazilian actors Camila Morgado and Dira Paes in significant roles.
In addition to "Seduction," H2O Films will release Miguel Faria Jr.'s documentary "Tom Jobim – Esse Seu Olhar" in Brazilian theaters starting January 25. This film commemorates the centenary of the iconic composer Tom Jobim, known for classics like "The Girl From Ipanema." Faria Jr. is recognized for his impactful documentaries on Brazilian music legends.
