WTRLSS: Innovating Sustainable Dyeing in Fashion

WTRLSS, the newly minted entity evolving from Lab Denim, is set to revolutionize the fashion dyeing process with its innovative technology. This Swiss-born company specializes in MultiActiv chemistry, which streamlines the traditional multi-stage denim dyeing into a single step, significantly reducing water and energy consumption.
Under the leadership of CEO Dustin White, alongside co-founders Kareem "Biggs" Burke, CFO Marc Bishara, and CMO Kimberly Doebereiner, WTRLSS aims to position itself as a go-to ingredient brand, similar to Tencel or Lycra. Doebereiner noted that consumers show strong interest in the environmental benefits of this technology, enhancing the perceived value of garments.
While denim remains the primary focus, Doebereiner highlighted the potential for extending this technology to various non-denim textiles. WTRLSS is already in the process of commercializing its technology, collaborating with manufacturers like Ha-Meem Group in Bangladesh, a leading denim producer. Ha-Meem's director, Sajid Azad, expressed pride in being the first to scale this sustainable technology, emphasizing its potential to reduce water waste in the industry.
As the company prepares for commercial orders, its technology is also set to be adopted by organizations like the Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center in Detroit. WTRLSS envisions a future where the dyeing process not only becomes more efficient but also aligns with sustainability goals, transforming one of the industry’s most polluting practices into a cleaner one.
