AstraZeneca has unveiled promising results from two late-stage trials of its experimental drug, tozorakimab, which demonstrated a significant reduction in flare-ups associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This development could herald a new treatment option for the millions afflicted by this serious lung condition.
The Phase 3 trials showcased that tozorakimab, affectionately nicknamed 'tozo', lowered the incidence of COPD exacerbations—sudden worsening of symptoms requiring medical intervention—by approximately 30% over a year.
