Carla Woodcock Takes Center Stage in Shark Thriller 'White'

Carla Woodcock, known for her role in Starz’s Outlander, has been cast as the lead in the upcoming shark survival thriller, 'White.' Directed by horror filmmaker Jake West, the film is set to deliver a gripping tale of survival in the unforgiving ocean.

In 'White,' Woodcock portrays Willa Harba, an aspiring actress whose dreams take a perilous turn when her private jet, en route to a shoot with a narcissistic superstar, crashes into the Pacific Ocean. As the sole survivor, Willa finds herself stranded on a broken wing with only a satellite phone for communication. In a desperate attempt to seek help, she contacts her unsympathetic studio boss, played by Kate Beckinsale, only to be brushed off. Meanwhile, a marine biologist, Sam Swatek, portrayed by Katherine McNamara, informs her that she has landed in the infamous White Shark Café, known for its congregation of great white sharks.

The screenplay for 'White' comes from Dan Schaffer, the mind behind the cult comic series Dogwitch. The film is produced by a team that includes Yariv Lerner, Dominic Burns, Crawford Anderson-Dillon, and Sky Morfopoulos, with Beckinsale also taking on an executive producer role alongside Highland Film Group’s Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier, and others. Highland Film Group is actively handling world sales and has already secured multiple international distribution agreements at TIFF.
