As New York Fashion Week kicks off, excitement builds with the announcement of the nominees for the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). This year's lineup showcases a diverse array of talent across various categories, celebrating both established designers and emerging voices in the fashion industry.
Outstanding Nominees Recognized
The nominees for the prestigious American Womenswear Designer of the Year include Catherine Holstein for Khaite, Michael Kors, Rachel Scott for Diotima, Tory Burch, and Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera. Notably, Scott, Burch, and Gordon are returning contenders from last year, while Ralph Lauren, last year's winner, has shifted to the menswear category.
In the menswear category, Ralph Lauren competes against reigning champion Thom Browne, Todd Snyder, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne for Public School New York, and Willy Chavarria. Meanwhile, the American Accessory Designer of the Year nominees feature Ana Khouri, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row, Raul Lopez for Luar, Sophie Buhai, and Stuart Vevers for Coach.
Special Honors and Ceremony Details
Among the special honorees, Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent will receive the International Designer of the Year Award, while Eva Chen from Meta will be honored with the Media Award.
