Culver's Pumpkin S'mores Concrete Mixer: A Fall Treat Worth Trying?

By Editor • September 9, 2026 • 2 min read

As fall settles in, fast food giants are unveiling their seasonal offerings, and Culver's is no exception. On September 8, the Wisconsin-based chain introduced its latest dessert: the Pumpkin S'mores Concrete Mixer. This limited-time creation blends fresh vanilla custard with real pumpkin puree, graham cracker crumbs, Hershey's chocolate bits, and mini marshmallows, aiming to capture the essence of autumn in a cup.

On my recent visit to the Glenview, Illinois location, I decided to test this hyped combination. Culver's has been pushing the boundaries of its menu this year, adding new flavors and seasonal items that promise to pique curiosity. After sampling their other recent custard innovations, I was eager to see if the Pumpkin S'mores Mixer could live up to the expectations.

First Impressions and Flavor Profile

Upon receiving my small Pumpkin S'mores Concrete Mixer, I noticed its creamy, pale orange hue, which belied the rich mix of ingredients promised. As I took my first spoonful, the custard was undeniably smooth, but I quickly realized something was off. The anticipated s'mores flavors, typically characterized by gooey marshmallows and rich chocolate, were muted. Instead, I encountered a surprising crunch from dehydrated marshmallow bits that didn’t deliver the warm, gooey experience one might expect from a classic s'mores treat.

A Balancing Act of Flavors

The pumpkin flavor stood out, offering a mellow warmth enhanced by spices like cinnamon and ginger. The graham cracker crumbs contributed a hint of sweetness, but the chocolate pieces felt lost in the mix. They lacked the richness that could elevate the dessert, making the overall experience pleasant but somewhat forgettable. The promise of a campfire favorite was not fully realized, leaving me wishing for a more dynamic blend of flavors.

Despite its shortcomings, the Pumpkin S'mores Concrete Mixer is still a fitting tribute to the season. It’s available in mini, small, medium, and large sizes, with the small option boasting 730 calories and a hefty 67 grams of sugar. While it’s a fun, seasonal treat, it might be better suited for a custard cup where the ingredients can shine individually.
