D’Angelo’s Son Cast as Biggie Smalls in Upcoming Snoop Dogg Biopic

Universal Pictures has unveiled exciting new cast members for its anticipated biopic of Snoop Dogg, including the son of R&B legends D’Angelo and Angie Stone. Michael D’Angelo Archer Jr., known professionally as SwayvoTwain, is set to take on the iconic role of Biggie Smalls.

Joining SwayvoTwain in the film are G Perico, who will portray Big Reecie Cup, and Bentley Green, a former child rapper known from The Ellen Show, cast as RBX. The film's lead role of Snoop Doggy Dog will be played by Jonathan Daviss, known for his work in Outer Banks.

Directed by Craig Brewer, who gained acclaim for Hustle & Flow, the biopic is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2027. The screenplay was crafted by Joe Robert Cole, recognized for his work on Black Panther, and the film is being produced by Snoop Dogg himself, alongside Sara Ramaker, president of Death Row Pictures. Notably, this project marks the first release under Death Row Pictures' partnership with NBCUniversal Entertainment and Studios.
