Feldspar, the Devon-based design studio founded by Jeremy and Cath Brown, has expanded its product line with an enchanting new lighting collection. Renowned for their dimpled aesthetic and commitment to creating enduring pieces, the studio now offers a range of lighting options that embody both elegance and playfulness.
Introducing the New Collection
The latest addition to Feldspar's portfolio includes four stylish pendant lights and two table lamps, all crafted from fine bone china. The founders have artfully maintained their signature style, ensuring that the lighting appears opaque during the day while glowing warmly at night. The collection features the larger 'Merrivale' and the smaller 'Burra' table lamps, designed with sturdy bases and exquisite linen shades handmade by Bath-based designer Eloise Scotland.
Thoughtful Design Elements
Each lampshade in the collection draws inspiration from personal experiences, such as a bowl owned by Eloise's grandfather, who was a passionate ceramics collector. The shades are accented with a hidden cobalt-blue rib inside, reminiscent of the cobalt blue used in Feldspar's ceramics. Additionally, the collection boasts hand-carved brass dimmer switches, adding a tactile and unexpected element to the design.
Craftsmanship and Inspiration
Feldspar's commitment to quality is evident in their approach to design, as they aim to create functional pieces that are also meant to be cherished. The Browns drew inspiration from their own home, aiming to blend elegance with a sense of livability. With designs like 'Big Slim' and 'Big Bell', the studio continues to reflect its ethos of combining beauty with everyday utility.
