John Malkovich to Bring ‘The Music Critic’ to Tel Aviv Next April

Renowned actor John Malkovich is gearing up to make a return to Israel with an engaging performance of 'The Music Critic,' scheduled for April 13, 2024, at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv. This theatrical-musical production promises to deliver a unique blend of humor and classical music, showcasing Malkovich in a rather unusual role.

The show, created by the talented Russian-German violinist Aleksey Igudesman, features Malkovich as an 'evil critic' who takes jabs at some of the most revered composers in history, including Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Frédéric Chopin. Accompanying him will be a live ensemble, featuring Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo, who will perform the musical pieces while Malkovich delivers his scathing critiques. The performance will include a poignant moment where he reads a brutally honest review of his own career.

This production has made waves in previous tours across Europe and the United States and has even been released as an album.
