Kau Kee Food Factory Opens Its First Retail Store After 66 Years

In a significant shift for a well-established player in Hong Kong's culinary scene, Kau Kee Food Factory has launched its first-ever retail outlet. This move marks a new chapter for the company, which has been a staple in the fish ball supply industry for over six decades.

Founded by Anita Lee Yan-kwan's family, Kau Kee has quietly thrived behind the scenes, providing its famous fish balls to nearly 1,000 street food vendors and restaurants across Hong Kong. Until recently, these delightful treats were mostly enjoyed by locals through their favorite eateries.

With the opening of the retail store late last year, Lee aims to bring this beloved product directly to consumers, allowing every Hongkonger to experience the taste that has been cherished for generations. As the second-generation owner, she hopes that this new venture will not only elevate the brand but also introduce their signature fish balls to a broader audience.
