Musk's Antitrust Battle with Apple Over ChatGPT Use Continues

Elon Musk's ongoing legal skirmish with Apple over the integration of ChatGPT into iPhone functionalities appears to be far from resolution. The dispute, which has roots in a partnership announced in 2024, has evolved into a serious antitrust lawsuit.
Initially, Musk criticized the collaboration, labeling it as an arrangement that allowed OpenAI to deploy what he referred to as 'creepy spyware' on users' devices. His concerns escalated into a lawsuit the following year, where he accused Apple and OpenAI of creating a 'monopoly' over AI prompts used by Apple customers, claiming that it stifled competition in both the smartphone and chatbot sectors.
The tension peaked when Musk alleged that his own chatbot, Grok, was being unfairly hindered from achieving top ranks in the App Store. He stated last August that 'Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store,' asserting this practice as a clear violation of antitrust laws.
