In a heartfelt ceremony at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys, Rob Reiner and Betty Gilpin were honored with prestigious awards for their performances in comedy. Reiner's posthumous win for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Bear touched the hearts of many, as he was remembered by a supportive audience.

Presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey led the crowd in a standing ovation, expressing the collective sentiment, "I know we all wish Rob could be here tonight." Reiner's tragic passing, alongside his wife Michele, has left a profound impact on the industry. Their son, Nick Reiner, currently faces charges in connection with their deaths.

Meanwhile, Betty Gilpin's acceptance for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Apple’s Widow’s Bay was a highlight of the evening. In a creative twist, Gilpin delivered her speech in poetic form, starting with an affectionate nod to her date, fellow actress Alison Brie.

Earlier in the night, other awards were presented, with Shailene Woodley winning Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Paradise, marking a significant milestone for the show. Ernest Harden Jr. also claimed the title of Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Pitt. The Creative Arts Emmys, typically held a week before the Primetime Emmys, showcased a blend of talent across various categories this year.

The awards, which were not broadcast live, will air together on September 12, while the 78th Emmy Awards, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, are set to go live on NBC on September 14.
