Saudi Civil Defense Clears Danger Alerts for Southern Cities

On September 14, the Saudi Civil Defense announced that it had lifted warnings of potential threats in four southern cities following an increase in hostilities from Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi forces.
The cities affected included Najran, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Abha. Initially, alerts were issued for these locations due to rising tensions, with Khamis Mushait and Abha receiving warnings on two separate occasions before the all-clear was given.
The Houthi group, which maintains control over large portions of northern Yemen, has escalated its attacks against Saudi Arabia since implementing a naval blockade targeting Riyadh in July. These assaults have included strikes aimed at Saudi vessels operating in the Red Sea.
