Shipt Unveils AI Shopping Assistant to Enhance Customer Experience

In a significant step towards revolutionizing the online grocery shopping experience, Shipt, the same-day delivery service owned by Target, has launched its new AI shopping assistant, "Ask Shipt." This tool aims to streamline the shopping process by transforming user prompts into tailored, ready-to-purchase shopping carts.
With the launch of Ask Shipt, the company joins the ranks of other delivery platforms incorporating AI technology into their services. Notably, just hours before Shipt's announcement, Instacart introduced its own AI-driven grocery assistant named Clementine, while competitors Uber Eats and DoorDash have also rolled out similar features this year.
The Ask Shipt assistant allows users to request specific shopping lists based on various scenarios, such as, "Create a cart for my Saturday tailgate for 25 people and include some brunch items," or even upload a photo of a meal to identify and add ingredients to their cart. Furthermore, users can seek budget-friendly meal ideas, like planning a weeknight dinner for a family of five under $35. This innovative tool is now accessible through the Shipt app and Shipt.com, enhancing the platform's suite of AI functionalities, which also includes advanced features on Target.com.
