Tensions Escalate as Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Man in Nablus

In a troubling incident reported on Tuesday, Israeli forces shot and killed a 29-year-old Palestinian man in the town of Aqraba, located south of Nablus. The man, identified as Abdul Karim Muhammad Salem Khader, was killed during an operation that also involved the demolition of parts of his home.

According to the Palestine News Agency, the military utilized an Energa antitank rifle grenade to target Khader's residence before deploying a bulldozer to raze sections of the building. An Israeli army spokesperson stated that the forces acted in response to an alleged attack attempt by an armed individual.

The violence did not end in Aqraba. On the same day, Israeli forces conducted extensive raids across the occupied West Bank, including operations in Anata and the Shu’fat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, as well as Dura near Hebron. Reports indicate that at least ten individuals were arrested during these raids, including notable figures such as Fayez al-Jabari and his son, along with two former prisoners, Ayoub al-Awawda and Montaser Shadid.

In a related development, Israeli forces have begun demolishing homes in the village of Khallit al-Dabe in Masafer Yatta. The situation has escalated further in Anata, where local governor Adnan Ghaith condemned the raids as part of a broader strategy to impose a siege on northeast Jerusalem. He highlighted that the military actions have obstructed ambulances from reaching those in need and led to the bulldozing of critical water lines, jeopardizing the water supply for residents.
