Vera Therapeutics Advances Trutakna for Kidney Disease Following Promising Phase 3 Results

Vera Therapeutics has announced significant findings from its Phase 3 clinical trial for Trutakna, a drug designed to treat IgA nephropathy, showing promising results in stabilizing kidney function over two years.
The final results indicate that Trutakna not only stabilizes kidney function but also lowers the risk of kidney-related deaths and associated complications in patients suffering from this chronic autoimmune disease. IgA nephropathy, characterized by the accumulation of immune antibodies in the kidneys, often leads to severe kidney impairment and may necessitate dialysis.
Following these encouraging outcomes, Vera Therapeutics plans to submit an application for full FDA approval of Trutakna in the upcoming fourth quarter, building on the accelerated approval received in July.
