Win Tickets to Bel Trew's Eye-Opening Documentary on Maternal Health Crisis

The Independent is excited to announce a giveaway for a special screening of Bel Trew's impactful documentary, Hard Labour: Inside the global crisis killing mothers and babies, at the ICA London. This screening, set for 6:30 PM on September 15, dives deep into the alarming challenges faced by mothers and babies in some of the world's most dangerous places for childbirth.
Over the past 25 years, advancements in healthcare have successfully reduced maternal deaths by 40%. However, recent international aid cuts and a surge in global conflict are threatening these hard-earned achievements. Trew's documentary captures the stories of mothers, babies, and healthcare workers battling the dire consequences of these crises.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion featuring Trew, Monica Ferro from the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), and Dr. Alexandra Ridout from King's College London.
