AliExpress has come under scrutiny for covertly fingerprinting its website visitors. Researcher Matthew Callaghan discovered this after his Bluetooth headphones malfunctioned while browsing the site.
Upon investigation, he found scripts that analyzed WebAudio readings, utilizing inaudible sound waves to track users. Each time he accessed the AliExpress homepage, his phone's audio was interrupted, returning only when he closed the tab.
