Bangladesh Prepares for Tougher Challenge from Australia in Second Test

Bangladesh's coach Phil Simmons is gearing up his squad for a more intense contest as they face Australia in the second Test, beginning Saturday in Mackay. Following a stunning nine-wicket victory in the first Test, Simmons cautioned his players against complacency, noting that Australia will come back stronger after their defeat, which was branded the "Darwin Disaster" by local media.
Simmons emphasized the need for his team to either maintain or elevate their performance. “Australia is going to come harder,” he asserted. “Even if we have to get 1 percent better in some areas, we must ensure that’s there.” He acknowledged that the Australians would likely adjust their strategies for this match.
Despite the victory being Bangladesh's first Test win on Australian soil, Simmons is hesitant to alter his winning lineup, although left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam is vying for selection after recovering from a hamstring injury.
On the Australian side, they have made one lineup change, bringing in Matt Renshaw for Jake Weatherald. Captain Pat Cummins expressed the need for a significant improvement, reflecting on their lackluster performance in Darwin, especially from their batting order.
