Capturing the Enchantment of Michigan's Bullfrog

On a tranquil morning by a Michigan lake, photographer Steven Scott Grogin embarked on his daily ritual, hoping to capture nature's wonders. Arriving around 7 a.m. at his favorite spot, a former quarry pit, he revels in the serene biodiversity.
During his lakeside exploration, Grogin encountered an impressively large American bullfrog, measuring six to eight inches. Known for their skittish nature, bullfrogs can be challenging to approach, but Grogin's patience paid off.
Carefully positioning himself in the mud, he dipped his lens below the waterline to snap the perfect shot. After hours spent in the quiet, he returned home to enhance the image while maintaining its natural essence. Grogin aims for viewers to feel as though they are submerged alongside the bullfrog, experiencing its majestic presence from an intimate perspective.
