Anna Castelli Ferrieri, who passed away in 2006, remains a pivotal figure in the world of modern design, particularly known for her innovative contributions to the Italian furniture brand, Kartell. Alongside her husband, Giulio Castelli, she co-founded the company, which has become synonymous with stylish and functional plastic furniture.

Born in 1918, Ferrieri earned her architecture degree from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1943, the same year she married Castelli. It wasn't until 1964 that Ferrieri designed her first product for Kartell—a plastic table that echoed Eero Saarinen's iconic 'Tulip' table.
