Charles Melton, celebrated for his recent Emmy nomination for Netflix's 'Beef,' is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to portray Kakashi Hatake in the live-action adaptation of 'Naruto' at Lionsgate.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for the blockbuster 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' the film will bring to life the beloved manga series by Masashi Kishimoto. The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja aspiring to become the leader of his village while grappling with the spirit of a nine-tailed demon fox within him.
As production gears up, a search is on for the actor to portray Naruto himself. Melton’s character, Kakashi, serves as a mentor to Naruto and his friends, a role that resonates with fans of the franchise.
Cretton is set to produce alongside Jeyun Munford, with filming anticipated to commence around February 2027.
