Charter Plane with Eight People Crashes in Remote Alaska

A charter aircraft carrying eight individuals, including two pilots and six passengers, crashed near a radar facility in western Alaska on Thursday. The plane, which departed from Anchorage, was reportedly approaching Cape Newenham when the incident occurred in the early afternoon.
The National Transportation Safety Board's Alaska region chief, Clint Johnson, confirmed the crash but did not provide details on the condition of those on board. A search and rescue operation has been initiated by the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center.
