Chiba Prefecture is grappling with the aftermath of unprecedented rainfall, with the death toll now at 10. One individual remains unaccounted for, according to local officials.
The latest victim, a man in his 30s, succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning after relying on an electric generator during a power outage. Approximately 1,500 homes have been inundated, and more than 1,200 vehicles were left abandoned, complicating recovery efforts.
Authorities are actively clearing roads of these vehicles, with over 100 still needing removal, as they strive to ensure emergency access.
