Claudia Sulewski and Finneas Tie the Knot: A Glimpse into the Bride's Couture Journey

In a beautiful ceremony held on August 29 in Montecito, California, actress and beauty entrepreneur Claudia Sulewski married musician Finneas O’Connell. The couple celebrated their love surrounded by family and friends in an event that highlighted the bride’s stunning custom creations from Oscar de la Renta.

Just days before the wedding, Vogue had the privilege of joining Claudia for her final fitting at the Oscar de la Renta boutique in Beverly Hills. Excitement filled the air as Claudia, accompanied by her mother Beata and mother-in-law Maggie Baird, prepared to try on her four wedding looks, each tailored for different moments throughout the weekend. “I’m so excited,” she exclaimed, ready to reveal her ceremony dress, the one she had eagerly anticipated.

The fitting began with the rehearsal dinner gown, a breathtaking liquid crepe back satin piece that drew gasps of delight from her friends, musicians Rebecca Black and Dru MacDonald, who were present to witness the fitting. Claudia’s friends reminisced about her first date with Finneas, marking the beginning of their eight-year romance. “You literally look like a sculpture,” Dru remarked as adjustments were made by senior designer Grace McCoy.

Next came the show-stopping ceremony dress, which evoked spontaneous applause from the onlookers. The ivory silk faille ballgown featured a drop-waist bodice and a dramatic pleated skirt, complemented by a cascading scarf neckpiece. Claudia noted the emotional impact of the dress, inspired by the dramatic silhouettes of Oscar de la Renta’s past collections. A special moment occurred when Claudia’s friend and now-sister-in-law, Billie Eilish, joined the fitting via FaceTime, expressing her awe: “You look like an angel.”

As the fitting progressed, Claudia showcased her reception dress, a structured cady gown adorned with upcycled feathers—an important detail reflecting her commitment to sustainable fashion through her brand, Cyklar. The dress was designed for dancing, with crystal beaded accents that sparkled under the lights. “I’ve had to be very vague about certain limitations,” Claudia explained, referring to the first dance with Finneas while keeping the dress intact.

Finally, the after-party dress was unveiled, echoing the playful spirit of early 2000s runway styles. Claudia laughed as she described her bubble skirt and dove grey heels, saying, “I feel like a little cupcake.”

In a delightful twist, the fitting concluded with a special surprise for their two rescue dogs, Peaches and Moose, who would don matching silk faille bows as they walked down the aisle. “That’s when the tears will start, for sure,” Dru predicted.

With all the details perfectly in place and the final adjustments made, Claudia was filled with joy as she said, “Let’s go get married!” marking the end of a magical fitting journey and the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
