A federal appeals court has intervened to block a decision from the Trump administration that would have increased political advertisements on broadcast TV.
The FCC's order mandated that broadcasters provide the lowest advertising rates to political parties, a move challenged by four Democratic candidates. In a 2-1 ruling, the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit agreed that only individual candidates qualify for these rates, halting the FCC's decision set to take effect on September 4.
