Cup of Joy Brings Turkish Coffee Culture to London

By Editor • August 28, 2026 • 1 min read

Marylebone has welcomed Cup of Joy, a specialty coffee and bakery brand from Turkey, marking its first venture outside of Istanbul. Established in 2013, the brand has made a name for itself with eight thriving locations in Turkey.

The new café, situated at 28 Blandford Street, showcases a unique interior designed by EBBA Architects, inspired by the architectural elements of Istanbul. Benni Allan, the founder of EBBA, incorporated local materials like clay plaster and Portland stone, echoing the essence of the original cafés.

The design features oak-lined recesses and a diagonally positioned bar, creating an inviting atmosphere for both morning coffee and leisurely lunches. The ceiling is adorned with timber and opaque glass, ensuring a soft, ambient light fills the café.

Cup of Joy offers a diverse all-day menu, including its signature house blend coffee, made from sustainably sourced Arabica beans, served in unique ceramic cups crafted by co-founder Gökçe Kalyoncu. The culinary offerings also highlight Turkish flavors, featuring dishes like Eggs Istanbul with Aleppo pepper butter and the sweet Baba Au Tea.
