Discover Hotel Hans: A Charming Blend of Comfort and Urban Life in Copenhagen

By Editor • August 24, 2026 • 1 min read

Nestled between the vibrant Nørrebro and the refined Frederiksberg districts, Hotel Hans is the latest offering from the family-operated Brøchner Hotels. This new establishment pays homage to Hans Brøchner, the family's patriarch who helped launch their first hotel in the 1980s. The hotel resides in a historic red-brick building designed by Emil Blichfeldt, the architect behind Tivoli Gardens, while showcasing a modern aesthetic that captures the lively essence of Copenhagen.

Hotel Hans serves as an ideal base for visitors eager to experience local culture. Guests can easily explore Nørrebro's culinary gems, including the plant-based Baka d’ Busk and Michelin-starred Jatak, all within walking distance. A stroll through Assistens Cemetery, where Hans Christian Andersen rests, leads to Jægersborggade, known for its eclectic shops and eateries.

Designed by Norrøn Architects, the lobby features large windows that invite the city's energy indoors. Here, patrons can enjoy drinks on sleek furniture inspired by the urban landscape. The hotel’s art and design elements, including neon portraits of Hans by his granddaughter, Laura Brøchner, add a personal touch to the ambiance.

With 91 rooms inspired by vintage apartments, guests will find a serene retreat adorned with stylish decor. The suites, some equipped with balconies and private terraces, offer a unique urban living experience. Mornings start with a Nordic breakfast buffet, while evenings invite guests to unwind with complimentary house wine and cocktails.

Hotel Hans strikes a balance between practicality and charm, making it a perfect spot for solo travelers and groups alike, whether for people-watching in the lobby or relaxing after a day of exploration.
