Djokovic and Sabalenka Exit US Open Mixed Doubles in Shock Upset

Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka faced an unexpected setback in their mixed doubles debut at the US Open, losing to Henry Patten and Katerina Siniakova with a score of 1-4, 4-2, 10-2.

The top-seeded duo started strong, clinching the first set, but their momentum faltered as Patten and Siniakova rebounded to win the second set and dominated the deciding tiebreak.

Siniakova capped the match with an impressive ace on match point, dashing the hopes of the star-studded pairing. “In this format, we play one bad game and all of a sudden the first set's gone,” Siniakova remarked. “We played an amazing tiebreak, and Kat acing Novak was great.”

With their mixed doubles run cut short, Djokovic and Sabalenka will now shift their focus to the singles competition starting on August 30.
