Dual Wildfires Rage Along Big Sur Coast, Evacuations Issued

Firefighters are battling two significant wildfires along California's picturesque Big Sur coastline, prompting evacuations and highway closures. The Plaskett Fire ignited Wednesday in steep terrain near Highway 1, leading to the closure of part of the scenic route as crews worked to control the flames.
Meanwhile, the Timber Fire, which has been burning since August 8, continues to pose a threat, covering nearly 31 square miles with over 20% containment. Fire officials are conducting back-burning operations to protect nearby communities.
